The School

The Spears School of Business is composed of seven academic departments with more than 100 tenure and tenure-track educational professionals. The student body is made up of over 4,000 undergraduate students pursuing 18 majors and approximately 1,200 students pursuing six master’s degrees. The School also offers PhDs in business administration and in economics.

School of Accounting

The School of Accounting is dedicated to excellence in accounting education by providing the highest quality instruction and curriculum in all degree programs, useful and timely accounting research, and continuing education programs and other professional outreach activities.

Economics and Legal Studies

The Department of Economics and Legal Studies in Business in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University offers comprehensive and rigorous undergraduate and graduate economics programs. These programs are designed to equip students with the analytical tools required for high-quality research and application. Our graduates develop a good understanding of human behavior by applying analysis techniques to contemporary economic issues. They are thus able to exercise their ability to think independently when evaluating public policies or business decisions.

Management Science and Information Systems

The Department of Management Science and Information Systems (MSIS) understands that companies throughout the world require professionals with both the technical and managerial expertise necessary to thrive in an information-driven economy.

Management Information Systems

The MIS degree focuses on the business applications of information technology. This includes emphasizing necessary skills required in the analysis, development, evaluation and implementation of various information and communication technologies critical for today’s internet-enabled organizations.

Management Science and Computer Systems

The MSCS option places additional emphasis on developing aptitudes in quantitative tools that are especially critical in today’s data-driven organization. Additional course work in statistics, operations research, decision analysis and quantitative analysis is possible with an MSCS opti

Information Assurance

The Information Assurance option uses the expertise in the department that led OSU to be named a National Center of Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the NSA. This option provides students with in-depth study and hands-on analysis of critical organizational issues in information assurance and security.

Faculty

The faculty of the Spears School of Business is composed of noted scholars, authors, sought-after consultants and practitioners, and caring teachers. Many of the faculty have received outstanding teaching awards and have been recognized for innovative instruction. The faculty are nationally and internationally recognized for their publications and leadership positions in professional academic associations.
